What do I do with expired coupons?

Wait, don't throw those expired coupons away! You can use them to make this really cool coupon bracelet as pictured above. Just Kidding! :)

As many of you may already know, U.S. military families stationed overseas are able to use them on base for up to six months after the manufacturer's expiration date! Click here or here for a list of overseas military bases that currently participate in the Overseas Coupon Program. Prior to sending the coupons, you must select a base for adoption and send an email containing your name, address, email address, phone number and the name of the base being adopted.

It is recommended not to send coupons more than 2 months beyond their expiration date since it takes time to mail the coupons internationally. Also keep in mind that the overseas bases will only accept manufacturer's newspaper coupons and NOT internet printed coupons.

Clip the coupons prior to mailing them. It is also helpful to sort the coupons into "food" and "non-food" bundles. Place these bundles in separate envelopes and/or baggies and label them.
