Dream Makers is a program designed to assist those serving our national security who would not qualify for a mortgage due to the required down payment and/or closing costs.
You are eligible for a Dream Makers grant if:
-You’re Military (Active Duty, Reserve, Guard or Retired, Operation Iraqi Freedom or Operation Enduring Freedom veteran), a Department of Defense employee or a Department of Homeland Security employee, including the Coast Guard.
-You’re a first-time home buyer, or you have not owned a home for the last three years, or you have lost your home through divorce or disaster.
-The gross household income, including allowances, that you use to qualify for your mortgage loan must be:
A maximum of $60,000 per year in the Washington, DC area
A maximum of $50,000 per year in the rest of the U.S. (Exceptions may be made if you receive special allowances for high-cost-of-living areas)
